  • A Poll "About" Elections

We are close to the end of the game. I don't think we should change our Cabinet if we need just a session beyond the end of the month.

So this poll is to ask the Citizens whether I (as VP) should open nominations and hold elections as usual, or just stick with the current Administration.

Stick with the current Administration to end the game

working on the logistics of coordinating the rushing of 20 SS parts in 2 turns - means we can finish in 7 turns, hopefully we won't need another session after this one. As a sneak peek, its looking like about 5500-6000 gold needed and 30+freight, and does not required Cartenna (on Cart island) or Capua, Turin or Cremona (threatened by Celts) to contribute to the space ship race. So even if we were to lose Cremona, we should still be able to launch by 1901 and land in 1906, thereby ending the endgame this session

Finish it. Election at this stage are a needless delay and cluttering up of the forum. The Admin who have worked so hard this time around deserve the victory in their histories.

Besides, no-one new is likely to contest any elections anyway. I would, but, well, you know what I think by now.....

Rules in these games are made for the good of those who participate in them. If these selfsame people agree to change them, then let's go for it.

What do we have to gain from holding dummy elections at this point?

I think the best policy would be to outlaw elections entirely. We should not question our Great Leaders.

Here's a thought - hold elections for next game for starting in April. If for some reason we haven't finished this game, it should simply be a military endgame of protecting CAPITOL, which would be to the liking of the new game's government. we are 2 turns from launching, and no enemy city has started the Manhatten Project, which is the most likely way we'd have any problems with the AI. Also, if we keep >1000 gold in the treasury, even if CAPITOL would fall, the game should give us the option to move the government to another city without recalling the space ship

Lets just finish it already, because that non-water map sounds fun (for the Demo game...)
