Any civ that demands our goods can provide a large payoff. For Civs with which we are at war, I would limit my trading to guerilla tactics (land the freight on the fly and get away from the coast on the same turn) We have Magellens so we can outrun other navies if we have to. But make use of their road system to make deliveries

        *glances at the poll*

        *glances at the science minister*

*glances at the cities that demand goods we have currently ready to trade*

        *glances at the poll*

Maybe i should have pointed it out earlier, but the mongols demand more of our goods than any other and in some cases are the only foreign civ demanding our goods.... Plus we have 2 Silk caravans on the verge of the the mongols from a previous trade minister.

But i would have thought my fellow science minister might have joined me in wishing to trade with them

I'm in favour of peace with the Mongols, and voted as such. Until we have some Cruisers to escort Transports full of Freight, I suspect we'd suffer a lot of casualties - just from looking at the map. It's a long way across the sea from where our Freight is to the Mongol lands.

Those aren't exactly metropoli that are demanding our Cloth, either...

that's true - i was thinking more along the lines of Nishapur demanding silk (size 7 coastal city right next to kazam), that would be reachable, and since we seem to have 2 silk freights en route to there (which i have since requested to be turned around in my report) and we do have a cruiser in Kerman that would be healed by the time the transport gets there.

Anyway, pres has the reports now, so the point is mute... something to think about depending on how things shake out next cabinet meeting
