We have 3 potential trade-goods targets; Carth, Japanese, and Chinese.
The Chinese are least convenient, the Carths most convenient. Naturally
the order of convenience is opposite the value of trade. The Carhts are the least advanced, the Chinese most advanced (in terms of trade value - gold and bonus beakers).
I suggest we seriously consider the Japanese for the value of a quick return and shorter travel, but allow that some goods will be best traded with the Chinese.
