We can build musketeers for 10 shields, a lot cheaper then 100 gold...

If the need arises to get more units I suggest we bribe a couple of horsies and tiremmes instead of archers.

the moment we get gunpowder we won't be able to build any warriors any more.

Bribing NONE units allows us to defend our border cities without the unhappiness and shield maintenance that are inevitably part of a Republic.

Normally, one is forced to skimp on needed defense in order to maintain growth. Each NONE saves us a shield per turn while allowing us to spend our resources on more important things -- like camels and infrastructure!

I see your point on the resources and improvements, right now we can not build any thing new becouse our $$ flow is 0. That will change Tho in republic so its not a big concern.
What could be a concern is the fact that we have many cities defended with just warriors and if for some reason the japs came over to attack we could find ourselves loosing some cities. now i don't think this will happen but those who prepare for the worst LIVE LONGER! The Barb units will be cheaper than trying to rush a unit and we can amass a fair Homeland defense of NON units by bribing them.

I also conceed the point of Leo's upgrading those warriors but the same will be true of the bribed units so spending 100G to buy a warrior to have leo upgrade it or 100G on a NON and let leo upgrade it is kinda a no Brainer.

              ???
But the warrior cost shouldn't be less?

              ... wondering....

Save cash and, in case, use diplos to take care of the stupid Japs.

                The plan is globaly good.
But I have two noticed things :
                - OK for bribing NON units, very usefull in democracy : but we have a present use for them : embarking them on a trirem and explore the dark face of the world without another unit making unhappiness in a city !
                - Bombarding camels must concern rich civs in priority : Chinese, then Japs, and only if no other demand Carths !

JCP - certainly the rich civs take precedence with trade routes, and where possible I have ordered that Caravans go to China, then Japan, and Carthage only if desperate.

Good to see you keeping me honest.
