The Japs, our long time rivls, are at war with us, I think we should steal Feud. (the only tech that all 3 of them have that we don't) then make peace. What do you think?

I think it unlikely that we would see any form of attack from the japanese but we are a peacefull people IIRC so lets make peace. First steel techs of courseWizards sixth rule:

Don't steal techs if you don't need them! It only raises the cost of research!

You mean build Warriors that will be upgraded to Musketeers then Riflemen, right? That's an interesting idea. Eventually, of course, we will be forced to get Feudalism because it will be the only left the game will offer us to research, but that would be a ways away.
So, we steal it only when we are forced to, and not a minute sooner.
