ROFLMAO!Originally posted by Darkness' Edge
I've made up my mind.
I'd been intending to stay out of politics this term, after a fairly hectic one as Commissioner of the SMAC game.
But...I just can't resist.
I hereby nominate for the position of President.
You HAVE to beat me at it, don't you?
Go for it.

i certainly wouldn't mind it, but you're both much better administrators than i, and i'd be happy to step aside for either of you
(by the way, that's not to say i'm incapable
) you two are just the best there is.

Nonono! I mean that it looks like you will be first to be President of three Demo games if you are successful here - I guess this means the Civ3 one is next?
Caution: that one is demanding. Hence me being back here, amongst more easygoing people playing a more easygoing format in a better understoond game.

OK, I'll change from running for Minister of Science to running for President IF you will run for President also. Shall we have a spirited go for it?Originally posted by Hydey
I would like to see someone else put there hand up to be president for no other reason than to stop it becoming the Hydey game rather than a democracy game but I will wait a few days and see who has nominated for what .

No way in hell! As much as I'd like to, it's -far- too complicated for me. I ended up having to resign, because I made an incompetent deputy minister of foreign affairs...Originally posted by MrWhereItsAt

Kind words, Shade, but I'm thinking... NOT. I have a week of biz travel in Oct.
Will consider Trade or City Planner/Expansion if no one else steps forward. (...and what about Historian?)Originally posted by shade

I am going on a holiday to Ireland and the local 3 october celebrations are comming up.It might not be the best time to be in office when you know you're going to be drunk for half the month

I agree. More people should run for Ministerial offices so that they gain the experience needed to run for President. I understand that interested new people want the "top job", but there are things about doing it that you only learn by being a Minister first for a month or two.Originally posted by atawa
If there are open positions you can count on me, but I'd rather see some of the new players run for office
Ideally, several people (with some Ministerial experience) should be running for President each month. We shouldn't be having all these uncontested elections. And I would really like to see more people running for Minister jobs to get that experience and add their unique views to the recommendations to the President.
