They are at war with us but have no contact with other civs.

They have buggerall techs and are researching literacy.

The best defensive unit is the Phlanx and best attack is the elephant or legion.

          My recomendations

i think we should just hit them as soon as we are ready, our ironclads are unstoppable by there units so we cane empty there cities of units very quickly. its just a matter of getting land units up there to take the empty cities.

The only thing to worry about here at the moment is whether we go all out with our 'Clads and keep emptying their cities, or whether we wait until land forces are available.

Personally, I believe all out attacks and eliminating every unit of theirs we can see is a great option - it will keep them busy rebuilding defenders instead of advancing themselves.

1 rifleman will be able to defend any city we take, and if we keep killing defenders some of those cities size 3 will soon disappear.

This lame civ is ripe for bribery. And with their level of defense, our brave and righteous Cavalry will be sufficient to take out most defenders.

The only question is how long it will take us to get some troops there.

Why are carthaginian settlers allowed to run around? KILL THEM! With visible holes in our blockade, one could escape and delay their inevitable destruction!

Teach them the tech of subjugation!

I had in mind that Watership Downs would be a deathtrap for Carth units to come and detroy themselves against. It ought to draw their attention while we are busy with the Babs and Indians. But we can also make it a base for aggressive action (in which case, we should not bother to build the City Walls).

Oea surprised me. I expected that, with a Warrior in the Fortress, they wouldn't have a better unit nearby. You would think that the Legion would have been in the Fortress! Oh well. But we should still be able to take the city. It will make a good place to build near-to-battle Cavalry.

Leptis Magna might also be a good city to take. We'll have launch points against the Carth home island from 3 directions that way.

Don't delay our attack against carthas, because they have many cities and a lot of units. Even ancient units take time to be exterminated !
First : let's empty all their costal cities.
Second : Take Carthage first, with ironclads and ground units.
Third, after transporting many units, conquer them from our costal cities, by cavalry and/or spies !
If they have not been the last civ, this campaign would be a good training for our army !

If we decide to take Carthage, I suggest we have at least 4 Riflemen planted there at once, and City Walls rushed. It will be attacked from 4 sides, and even Legions will kill defenders eventually. The Carths evidently have a *lot* of units.

I'm not against the idea, but it would have to be set up carefully and done suddenly. We just don't have units anywhere near there. The previous polls said we should leave the Carths alone until the Indians were done with, so we are not set up for an assault on the Carth civ. Outposts, yes, assault, not yet.
