Foreign ministers report on the babylonians 1800

The babylonians are a republic of 6 cities with babylon the capital, they have 2270 gold in the treasury.
They have 1 tech (Sanitation) which we do not have and are resarching Chemistry.

They are allied with the Indians and at war with us.

best possible deffenders are musketeers but probably have older units still.

ashur: Coastal city built on plains (size 7) has city walls.

Babylon: capital city size 12 , coastal city built on grassland with city walls.
King richards crusade built in babylon.

Akkad: size 8 Coastal city built on grassland with city walls.

Ur , Nineveh & Uruk : 3 cities we have not found yet probably built inland .

I recommend attacking with Ironclads the 3 coastal cities we can see, vet ironclads will defeat musketeers as city walls are no help from ocean attacks, then take empty cities with ground troops, find 3 remaining cities and take out walls with spies then crush deffenders with cavalry.

Im new and as such probally will not be heard!! but i say ( and it has workrd for me !!!) take the inner cites out first as the AI generally has this more easily defended then the outer cities will fall easily with clads and artillery!!!
i post more details if needed....

          I hear you

we can take the coastal cities easilly bcause they have no defence against our mighty super ironclads.

please keep the ideas coming , the more the merrier

Looks like geography will make the Babs our final traget. This is a time for gathering the troops needed to complete the final assault.

Jadix -- As of this writing, no one is running for Historian (though a couple ppl have spoken of it).

Rest Ashured (hyuk hyuk) that one of their cities is adjacent to the hill, 4 tiles from Ashur.

                      Crush them.

Yes, 1 city has to be at that spot, to account for the improved terrain we can see. Can't make much of a guess about the other 2 cities, though they are probably spaced closely but with no overlap.

Ok for taking the three coastal cities after emptyed by clads. Then, as their capital will be taken, the inlands cities, even walled, will be cheaper and would be bribed easily !

There are a lot of suggests for bribing cities. I asked Calcutta about that, and they demanded 2100 gold. Even if that drops to half if we take their capital, we don't have the kind of money it will take to do a lot of city-bribery. Is there a formula for the costs of bribing cities without capitals?

I think it is *way* cheaper to build a bunch of Spies, knock down the City Walls, and storm the gates with Cavalry.

                            More satisfying, too!

Take out Babylon and Akkad in the first turn and have a spy or two waiting and look of any of the remaining city's are going to revolt.

If they do bribe them, otherwise take down city walls and kill them with cavalry
