This is going to be a little multipurpose poll:

    first one:
the Romans could be willing to give us Bridge-building in exchange for money (490G of our treasury of 765G)
    a) We grant our prez promission for this deal(YES)
    b) If the president wants bridgebuilding from those Romans he'll have to steal it, he doesn't get to even give 1 of our goldpieces away.(NO)

    second one:
We have a new wonder-goal: Magellans Expedition. This WoW needs 400 shields to completion (8caravans).
we now have 4 under construction
-Umbra(but this one will be send to Babylon)
    -Sodaq, Nalduria, Paha Sapa
--> Apolyton is building a crusader
===>[B] one question for the cityplanner: "maybe you should start a poll to ask wich city of the island of Apolytonia should build the WoW" [B]
    a) the selected city should start building King Richards(and be switched to Magellans)
    b) the selected city should not start building KR but build what needs to be build
    c) the selected city should not start building KR but build caravans

    Third one:
about the 3 other cities of Apolytonia
    a) they should all be building caravans for the wonder
    b) they(some) should be building what's needed(improvements/crusaders)

You get 3 day's to vote

I think 490 gold is way too much to pay for an older tech, and the cost will only go up as we earn more gold. Stealing it should be easier (and more satisfying).

Choosing the city to build the next Wonder can be left to the time the Caravans are accumulated to allow the most appropriate city do the job. Starting the Wonder in a city ahead of time just locks that location, and it prevents us from using the city for things it needs itself while the Wonder is being built (like an Aqueduct or Military unit, etc). Why not just build Caravans?

And I have a question... Does it cost less gold to rush a Caravan compared with the cost of using gold to complete a Wonder? I've never been certain about that.

stealing it gives the risk of war...(btw we can still steal university from the Indians)

      I believe it's cheaper to rush a caravan then a wonder(not sure).
The reson why I would have 1 city start building KR is because of shieldloss(eg 8shields/turn-->56 shields when the caravan is finished).I don't know how we are going to take over Heliopolis(that's MdS's terrain but I think he might eassily com up with a plan that gives us the city in <10 turns --> If we pick Navigation then there will only be 3 caravans ready (still 5 needed...that's why I should personnaly ask to concentrate on camelbreeding on our central island( like the situation is now there is no possibility that it will get treatened any time soon)

        Incremental rush buying costs ~2.5g/shield,
Outright purchase of wonder costs 4g/shield.

Incremental means switch to the cheapest unit, buy it; switch to the next cheapest, buy it; switch to caravan, buy it. Each row of 10 shields costs 25g. Partial rows cost progressively less.

Unless things have REALLY changed in MGE, Bridge Building is basically useless, except as a stepping stone to things like Railroads. We need it as much as we need to start attacking everyone - all in good time.

In this game, Magellan's will be very important. Incremental rushbuild of camels should proceed apace.

Bridge building is nice, but clearly not in the "must have" area. We will doubtless get it "en passant" when we rout the foreign infidels as they so richly deserve!

You can't build a road on a river square without bridge-building. On the other hand, maybe we don't have many rivers on this island world to deal with. There will probably come a point where we have all the other techs they have when we take a city, and we'll get it then.

It looks like our president will have to go under-cover and steal bridgbuiling himself

Well, if I'm going to have to go "undercover" with any Head of State to get Bridge-Building, it better be Cleopatra!

BridgeBuilding has a low interest as itself, but as a step for railways and Darwin's, it's usefull... not at the level needed a lot of money. Stealing "en passant" is the best way.
About Magellan's, is there any risk for other civs to precede us ?
I don't like put all my eggs in the same basket (eg. camels in all the cities)
BTW, about foreign meetings, is the Cleopatra'nose so wonderfull as historicaly pretended ?
