  • Science 1260 AD - after astronomy

Currently researching astronomy, approximately half done. What should we go after next?

Democracy and Feudalism had the second-most votes in the last poll, and with the discovery of Astronomy, Navigation should become available for us to pursue.

    Navigation (Caravel, Magellans Expedition, Physics)

    Democracy (SoL)

    Medicine

University (university, metallurgy, chemistry (with medicine)

    Feudalism (chivalry)

    Bridge Building

I personally recommend Democracy and then heading for conscription (we'll need to get metallurgy, first), and we can steal medicine and university now. I'll post a seperate poll on what we should do after we steal techs from the egyptians.

    You have 2 days.
    13
    Navigation
    23.08%
    3
    Democracy
    76.92%
    10
    University
    0.00%
    0
    Feudalism
    0.00%
    0
    Medicine
    0.00%
    0
    Bridge building
    0.00%
    0

    The poll is expired.

I think we should go for navigation. We already have Leo's, and we have the Lighthouse, so we'll get ships that have 1 more move point. After that, democracy.

Having reviewed the latest save game, I would like to change my vote to democracy. We need SoL!!! Communism would be a very good idea. Why? Corruption and waste are very serious problems right now-45 arrows are corrupted by sleazy politicians and greedy merchants, and our workers are taking monday off-7 shields are being used for beer. We have to crack down on this! We currently have 101 arrows, thus, getting rid of the corruption will increase our civ's trade by a significant amount, almost 50%.

Jippie, Yes!!! at last some-one else sees it tooooooooooo!!!

When we go for demo first we will have SOL 1(max2) turns latter(I'll make sure that's possible with an excess of caravans ) and then it will only take 50% of the time to get NAVIGATION...

All right-thinking Citizens would certainly agree that Democracy is the right tech for the Democracy Game! And SOL will solve a lot a problems.

After that, straight to Magellan's!! (I forgot we had the Lighthouse.) Together, they create the Super Ironclad which, in this watery world, will mean unbridled superiority on the High Seas!!!! Plus, our pathetic Triremes will upgrade to Caravels in the process.

                The Path Is Clear!

PS -- Forget what I said about Flight in the tech stealing thread.
