Also a little memo to everyone:
Hydey suggested to change our gov to Rep in the year 600AD...personally I think this would absolutely kill us.

Go ahead and play. The report of the Expansion Ministry is simple: postpone new cities until the next round. Why? Easier to manage, we'll (hopefully) have done some more exploring, and we don't have many available settlers right now.

Report being emailed now. I had computer probs here at work this morning.

And, no, we can't possibly change to Republic, we would go negative on shield production in many cities!

Well looking at the save we would go into negative production in zero cities , in fact overall production would increase imeadiately as elvis's and scientists are put back to work.
3 turns of wltcd and trade, production and population would almost double.

This is the first time I've been able to access the site in 2 days.

Go ahead and play. We can run polls of the next save.

Ditto - denied access until last night. I have no units to order about other than those with orders to continue exploring. Until Mike's is standing, my bad guys can do nothing.

I have looked at the save file more closely, based on your claim (and I gave it considerable thought and counting). I disagree. What you propose should cause (if resource workers are moved around to focus on shields to avoid negative shield production) food supply shortages and revolt in many cities. I think that is equally as bad as negative shield production.

You can't just go by the citizen icons on the main screen for each city. You have to consider the details in the "happiness" button in the bottom right of the city screen. The situation is a bit more detailed there. I count 5 cities that will either go negative on shields or revolt because of food shortages.

Foreign Minister Hydey - I want to advance to the better governments as quickly as possible. There *are* advantages. But Republic will not be to our advantage for this next session (say 4-7 turns at best).

Ask for my support in (say) 800 AD, and I will probably back you completely. We are just not ready for it *quite* yet.
