  • Move Reporting

350 BC - Changed some workers to slow down growth rate (avoiding rebellion), upgrade trade arrows where possible, and increase production as needed. The Indians have moved an Archer into the city limits of New Castellon (currently building a diplomat .) A Roman Warrior makes a valiant but, ultimately, fatal attack on the Indian Archer. The Indian Archer is victorious but suffers some minor damage.

I think we should change the tax rate from 30% Tax/70% Science to 10% Tax/70% Science/20% Luxury. We would still clear a profit of 3g per turn and could free up some warriors currently maintaining order to go explore.

325 BC - Warrior in SE stumbles across Egyptian settler. Maybe they will trade with us. Yes they will! We trade Trade to acquire Construction and Philosophy to acquire Masonry. We are currently on Cordial terms with the Egyptians meaning they won't trade maps. Let's see what a gift will do. Monarchy upgrades our relationship to Worshipful and we are now able to trade World Maps. The Egyptians hold a good-sized continent to the South connected to the South Pole but only have 4 cities. I feel a trade mission is in order. There is also an untipped hut within striking distance. I am sending the trireme back to pick up the Warrior and they shall go exploring.

I have received information that the Egyptians are starting to build some sort of large Diplomatic headquarters. They wish to name it in honor of the great explorer Marco Polo.

300 BC - I was wrong about the Indian Archer. He is not actually in our city limits, but is fortified on or border. Perhaps the little Warrior did more damage than was first suspected.
Our trireme made another run past the Roman capital, and it is now a size 5 city. Another trireme has come across the coastal city of Antium due north of Rome. Antium is a size 3 city and they seek Dye, Wool, and Silk for trade.

275 BC - The Indian Archer appears fully recovered from its battle injuries. He remains fortified on our border. Our trireme has spotted a Roman Legion marching south towards India. Our other trireme has come across yet another coastal Roman city, this one named Cumae. Cumae is also a size 3 city and seeks to trade Silk, Wool, and Gems.

250 BC - It was a quiet couple of decades. Still waiting on reports to come in.

225 BC - Ahh, the Indians seek an audience. They seek an Alliance against the Romans. I have respectfully declined.
Well, the Egyptian hut was full of Barbarians on horseback. There are 2 currently circling our warrior.

200 BC - Our brave Warrior has met an untimely death. Accursed barbarians.

175 BC - The city of New Castellon reports they have a diplomat ready for action. It just so happens I have a Trireme off the coast of New Castellon.

150 BC - Our first Marketplace is complete in Sodaq. Perhaps a Caravan to carry some of our wonderful Spice, Beads, or Salt to these other struggling nations.
The coastal Roman city of Veii is discovered. This size 3 city seeks Dye, Copper, or Beads for trade.

125 BC - Rivertown completes a settler unit. There is a minor disturbance in Sodaq. It is quickly settled. Please let us consider modifying our tax rate.
We have learned that an upstart nation known as the Carthagenians is attempting to build some sort of colossal statue.

100 BC- Let us stop here and wait for input from our High Council. The save file will be available shortly.

I never heard from Frank Johnson or Albert B, so they don't get a save file.

I don't think we should alter the tax rate, we still do few commerce and almost no cities would be affected by the switch to 20% luxuries yet (give me more caravans and I'll fix this) Also, at 100 BC with 10% tax we don't make any money.

If you want to, I can do a poll for it if not.

                Move Reporting by President

The whole of that is interesting, but if the cabinet has the saved file as decided, the basic citizens need more informations for participate to democracy : we need up-to-dated sceenshots !
For instance : where are the Egyptians about whom a poll asks for policy ???

My idea exactly...and then there are even ppl thinking of Republic
The only ones close enough for war are the Indians and the romans(but the moment we attack one of them the second will most probably join in against us.

We at least need some strongholds in/near their territories.
(and there is no possible way to wage a war against the egyptians at this moment => way to far away)

This is what I call sound reasoning.
