Should I include a path for Inventions in our next research poll?
That would be something like
Horseback Riding - Masonry - Writing - Literacy - (Currency) - Construction - The Wheel - Engineering - Invention
3 differnet paths, I suggest that you vote for any of them
(Horseback Riding - The Wheel, Masonry - (Currency) - Construction or Writing - Literacy)
Don't you think we're a leetle too small to commit public spending on a wonder of that magnitude? Why if this were a democracy then the people would be up in arms. As it's a Despotism then I personally, as a minor dignitary, will do all the string-pulling I can to ensure our people are defended with Pikes first. Which basically means I vote for them. Oh the power.
Ah, but the caravans enter the scene with trade. Then wonders are a cinch to build! Especially if we have a few more cities on our continent dedicated to camel breeding...
The first President of the first Apolyton Democracy Game (CivII, that is)
The gift of speech is given to many,
intelligence to few.
So if we compile all this there are 4 units that are quite important and will make us a lot stronger:
-camel(trade) so we can get tradebenifits and wonderbuilding
-Diplo what's better then a nice diplo in every city as defence against barbs or as bringers of enlightenment for foreign troops(read conversion)
-horses so we can explore at higher speed
-pikemen??(defence... I have never used these...what's their use actually??... )

Well, in really later polls, yes, sure.
We're in ancient times, for crying out loud!

Join the Civ2 Democratic Game! We have a banana option in every poll just for you to vote for! Many thanks to Zealot for wasting his time on the jobs section at Gamasutra - MarkG in the article SMAC2 IN FULL 3D?http://apolyton.net/misc/ Always thought settlers looked like Viking helmets. Took me a while to spot they were supposed to be wagons. - The pirate about Settlers in Civ 1
was just beeing kinda sarcastic...by the time foreign troops end up with horse/elephant/... next to my cities they mostly are already defended by a musketeer or so...
