Last Session, we built 4 Settlers. 3 established new cities and 1 is building Road. 7 of the 9 Colony Cities are building Colosseums and 2 are building Temples. We need to decide what to change (if anything).
Only Apolytonia and Utica have a defender. Partly this is because we had previously concluded we had no available units worth building in defense. However, we now have Crusaders and Musketeers.
Our tech rate is 8 turns, which is not too bad but not great either. In addition, Apolytonia is a rich (and island) city and its Caravans bring considerable gold and bonus beakers with each Caravan. This aids in rush-building and tech research.
We have gotten our gold balance under 100, so chance meetings with other civ units may offer an opportunity to buy advanced tech cheaper (than the Gunpowder).
Gold earned from trade will be immediately used to complete city production items.
We have some mutually exclusive desires to resolve. We want to build additional Settlers to establish new cities, but we also want to grow our cities to the point where they can celebrate to size 8, and we need at least Colosseums to do that. We want to keep our gold balance around 50, yet we also want enough gold to rush some city improvements.
Apolytonia has a Caravel in port. It can wait for the Caravan being built (8 turns) or it can go exploring (4 turns out and 4 back) risking being sunk. We want to explore, but we also want to have Caravels available to transport Caravans.
We need to resolve these competing desires before they cause "further" Citizen/Minister unhappiness and before your poor Consul loses his tiny conflicted mind trying to figure out what he should be doing (and when, I suppose).

It also appears that I will be acting as City-Planner for the rest of June. I will post some relevent polls. I do NOT want to act as Science Minister; beyond the chart that came with the game, I know nothing about what techs become available. I hope someone will volunteer for that. Otherwise, when we complete Warrior Code (probably as soon as the Bead Caravel reaches a Celt city), I will have to make my best guess (and it may not be the majority choice).
