I believe he is referring to the "GOTO" command which can have some strange results ( can't the computer see the Railroad connectiong those two cities?? )

Yes, but.... I see I was not clear. What I wonder is how/where that relates to the preceeding discussion. It's not important I guess.

I shouldn't attempt to answer for Cavebear here, but earlier in the thread RJMatSleepers suggest finding the "optimal path" for a caravan by using the "Goto" function.

Yes, I may have as well, but neither of us were refering to moving caravans using the GO TO, and definitely not as a regular order proceedure. Thus my

If this was just about how mucked up the GO TO is, then I agree.

I probably added to the confusion when I pointed out that after you have built some roads (or railroads), the goto command doesn't necessarily follow the "optimal path". But like BM, I wasn't suggesting that anyone should use the goto command for vans. Apart from anything else, you need to arrange the workers before delivery and then put them back again in order to maximise trade arrows (and hence delivery bonus).

I thought it was the GOTO command being discussed. Since I never get good results for that (and do not really understand the "optimal path" details well), I mentioned that I just choose my own path for Caravans.

                Sorry for the confusion.
