  • Do we need barracks?

It's obvious that we are going to be building units mostly form now on. Since we will most likely not bribe Pharsalos, I wanted to ask whether we should build some barracks.

I think we should in all border cities/outposts and cities on the railroad network. I think we don't need barracks in low production cities.

With a good Road/Railroad network in place, we can build units in far-flung cities with Barracks and send them to the front almost immediately.

Let's build barracks in important production centers or potential production centers and just concentrate on development and units elsewhere.

We likely have enough Barracks - even cities without Barracks can build Cavalry, and building too many Barracks will start to eat into our gold reserves, whereas 10 units per city are totally free.
