  • Downtime report: April 17-21

If you didnt notice we were off the air for almost 4 hours.

The reason was that Settler suffered a hardware failure. The problem was indentified and corrected (with a replacement) by our server provider.

    No loss of data occured.

Apologies for the lack of service during this downtime.

    --

    April 20:

Settler was offline for a bit over 2 hours. Source not determined, no loss of data

    --

    April 21:

At around 12:30 Apolyton time you might have noticed a slowdown that lasted for over 20 minutes. it was caused by tests running on our server to determine possible hardware failure

    thank you for your patience

    it's alive again.
I don't think Kassi would survived this forced IRC-lessness much longer..

<Kassiopeia> you don't keep the virgins in your lair at a sodomising distance from your beasts or male prisoners. If you devirginised them yourself, though, that's another story. If they devirginised each other, then, I hope you had that webcam running.

I didn't mind the forum loss as much , but I don't have anything to substitute for #apolyton

Yes, the IRC server was a minus in this case.

The one time I decide to post from home and the server crashes.

Yes, for awhile, I was afraid that they had blocked the site at work. Nice to see it back.

Hehe last time 'Poly was down I had just finished reinstalling Windows, and was still setting up my network. Everything was correctly configured, but the site didn't work. It was about 30 minutes of head-scratching before I thought to check another site.

Could this crash have anything to do with my not getting some thread updated e-mails?

I just don't understand why I've missed some.

Yeah I've seen that happen during times of strife for 'Poly.........it's working fine now though, so you can catch up.

                            /me nods...

It's just tracking down the various threads that I may not look at until I realize I miss them... and then be too late to really add anything to the conversation.

Well 'my threads' still works even when the emails stop being sent. That is my fall-back.
