    What is wrong here? Why can't I connect?

    Well, try checking your system for trojans for a start .

        Check your system for thingies matching Trojan patterns then?
        <Kassiopeia> you don't keep the virgins in your lair at a sodomising distance from your beasts or male prisoners. If you devirginised them yourself, though, that's another story. If they devirginised each other, then, I hope you had that webcam running.

                  This might help. Found it through google searching the phrase "You match the pattern of a known trojan".

                  The original page was gone, but fortunately the cached page had the following info on it:

                  Trojan Error
                  You get this error message when trying to connect?

                  Closing Link: 0.0.0.0 (You match the pattern of a known trojan, please check your system.)
                  * Disconnected

                  This means your username (realname) and your ident@ matches in capital letters. By changing one this will fix the error and allow you to login properly.

                  johndoe is JOHNDOE@user.novernet.com * JOHNDOE
                  johndoe has identified for this nick
                  johndoe on #novernet
                  johndoe using ghost.ny.us.novernet.com Novernet's OC-12 Ghost Server
                  johndoe End of /WHOIS list.
                  The following link also provides a similar answer, but indicts that when the nick looks like a random string, it can sometime be misidentified as a trojan. "ADG" certainly qualifies as under that criterion.
