Another rule of thumb. If the post takes up the whole screen (full, not spaces) when posted, it's harder to be accused of spamming. Effort is always taken into account.

Which is bad news if you post in a forum where I'm a mod, since my screen is 1600x1200

Is there a way to get banned and not get a PCR? I'm going on vacation for a week and want to be banned.

But I don't want one fo those complimentary bans.

Can I start a spam thread in OT and get banned?

        ACK!

If you need to fill extra lines, its always easy enough to append your post with

And thanks of course to the magnificent efforts of Locutus, (benign moderator and efficient newseditor of both the Civilisation:Call to Power, and its sequel, Call to Power 2 sections of the Apolyton Civilization Site) without whom such a post could not have been made. Truly his wisdom, knowledge, persistance and reliability make this forum and its near neighbours a friendlier, more useful and more enjoyable place in which to post.
Let he be a shining example to all of us in how to post with discretion, surety and common sense; above all without spam, overlong paragraphs, or superfluous wording.

Although that will certainly help anyone's case, it barely fills 4 out of the 60+ lines required to fill my screen (with avatars disabled it should just fit on 3)

Yes, never a good idea to say you're going on vacation for a week when acting up. That usually ends with a 2-3 week ban.

Shouldn't Ming be closing this now too?

BTW, don't be afraid to post, mods are people too. (Certain ones aren't....not naming names... )

Usually... it isn't needed, unless SOMEBODY bumps it days later.

But that's OK, I use these type of threads to keep track of who is currently spamming, so I know who to put high on my PCR list
