Yeah I've heard both, but I am reliably informed jiff is 'correct'.

Figures - the professors at my university pronounced it "giff".

          My way is best, morons!

"Jiff" is the way the snob who invented the spec pronounces it, but what does he know?

It is an acronym for "Graphical Interchange Format," not "Giraffical Interchange Format" and thus should be pronounced with the hard "G"!

And besides, the Swedes cannot pronounce the "jiff"..

(Have you ever heard a swede pronounce 'Michael Jackson'? Just see the movie 'Fargo', and you'll get my point... )
I'm not a complete idiot: some parts are still missing.

It's clearly pronounced with a hard G for the reasons that Straybow said.

And I have never heard of techTV either Frozzy.

It's a TV channel on satellite and digital cable, dedicated to computers and technology. Lots of interesting stuff.

So are you going to implement any of these?

It is probably on the to-do list.
Markos did request this himself, after all.

Could one request a "to-do" list?

Nah, writing it up neatly is on the to-do list.
