You can register with a hotmail account, can't you? . IIRC I did...
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

Under the old software, free email accounts weren't excepted. But once they switched over, those types of accounts are now allowed. It seems like a third of the new members come in on hotmail or yahoo email accounts.

Please resist... I liked that "old" feature. Now, it's way to easy to create a DL. sigh...

Still, many people I know only have free email accounts.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Yes, it is the norm these days.......although Ming's point is undoubtedly valid, if you stop allowing users with free email accounts from registering that would stop a lot of genuine new 'Polytoners.

yeah I tried to change my address to my yahoo account (since my original was an aol account ). I ended up having to use my cable modem e-mail account. I usually don't like using that one to register to bb's and stuff. Don't want to risk getting spam.

is it better to have 27'000 users of which 33% never even post once and another 33% are fake, DL or are gone for years.
or is it better to "just" have 10-15k, but say, that these are regular posters...?
