If you don't like it, change your (Apolyton) style so that you don't see banner-adds anymore.

It is much easier to change your browser to suit your specific situation than to expect to change Apolyton for everyone.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Never sticks. Ever. If I can get a solution, ok. I'll accept it.

Again: Isn't this a family site? There are websites for pornography. IRC channels. Magazines. If you want it, just go to one of those sources for it. I never quite expected such a tidal wave against removing porn from a gaming website such as poly....Its ridiculous.

Yes...I suspect that has something to do with what you Mewicans consider culture. But thats not the issue.

It IS pornography if you go with the definition of it. It causes my son to feel uncomfortable. Therefore I want it removed.

"Sexually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal."

Well it isn't sexually explicit, and it's primary purpose is not to cause sexual arousal.

              *Sigh*

I'm beginning to see that NOTHING i say is going to convince you that it should be taken down. The behavior I've seen in this thread is incredibly disturbing and with the exception of a few posters, is NOT what I expected at all. I thought most people at Apolyton has slihghtly higher moral standards. I suppose I shouldn't have expected it to be as such....

My original request stands: Close the thread.

Hey hey, all the vast majority have done here is disagree with you on a hugely subjective moral standard........that shouldn't be so disturbing to you.

To my mind it is just Mark/Dan's call whether to remove an ad on the basis of one objection.

Because I'm drained of energy, i'll just say one cliche:

Come on, do it for the children!

OH PLEASE... I think it sums it up nicely that only you think it's pornography. I'm a good parent, and I see NOTHING wrong with that ad. Stop trying to cram your puritan morality down everybody else's throat.

As I said, if an ad or avatar was to be removed because a single person found it offensive, your avatar would have been gone a long time ago. Since people have to put up with your avatar, you can put up with a single non offensive banner ad. To date, I've received over 10 complaints about your avatar as being offensive... yet only one person is complaining about the ad.

As usual ming, you dont bother to read WHY I want it removed.

And for the last time, close the damn thread.

Okay, I read the first 10 posts and then skipped through the [b]thread[b] because it looked like it was turning into something boring, dull, and repetitive, so I'll get it out now:

If you think this is pornography, then...uh...can't think of anything witty right now. Come back later.

Discussions much worse than this have persisted in threads and chats on Poly, and virtually everyone in the world who has access to any form of media at all has seen this kind of thing enough to not be affected by it.

And btw, I've never seen it in a popup ad...wouldn't it just be easier to scroll down some, thus placing the ad out of sight when your son comes in the room?

(Note: I have bold-ized the words in this that are important for evil skimmers like me.)

                          1. Apolyton claims to be a family-friendly site. Sorry, but this add is not very family friendly.

                          2. A mod recently banned someone for posting a picture of a shirtless male. Should they ban markos for putting this add in?

                          3. This is personal....I dont believe in these kinds of pictures because I feel a strong connection to my wife and I believe that to look at these pictures is to violate the bond between us (I know, its one of those crazy Mormon reasons. Oh well.)

                          4. My son has had a problem with pornography for quite some time....him walking in just as that add pops up is not condusive to his recovery.

I know, I can simply "change my style". Barring the fact I actually like Poly adds (other than this one) my style change never seems to stick. I dont want it to suddenly unstick when my son is coming in the room, OK?

So I humblly request that Markos take down this add as again it is not something I believe in, and its not something that I believe a site that claims to be "Family friendly" would put up.

You have been living in Utah far, far too long.

                          ACK!
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!

My, my... I walk almost every day through the shopping galleries in Milan and all I can see are obscene ads representing naked women masturbating on a bidet, eating sausages, stabbing men wrapped in leather and licking their fingers. Nobody finds this vulgar, figure out if a blonde chick and a teddy bear could offend someone
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Mine has stuck for, oh, a year and a half now.

Did you change styles from the apolyton forum main page, or did you do it through the more permanent control panel change?

Control Panel -> Options -> Style Set
Submit Modifications and your problem is gone. (Unless 'Poly logs you out, but while you are logged in you will most likely never see the add again)
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

just for the (whatever) chance that this is actually serious for you, the ad will be gone in the next few minutes....
