O sorry. It was on a forum thread page. It was the top banner ad. It made a vrooooom racing car sound. Got it several times yesterday. I don't know how to tell my style...I never really understood what that is. I think I'm on the old style. Whatever that is.

GP, go to
to see how you're indentified.
since you're probably indentified as visiting the site from the US, you see the RealMedia ads. to avoid these ads you should change your options
If you simply go to the styles setting in your options page you will see that there are "Special" and "Ultra-Special" equivalents for your currently selected style.
Making your selection will store it in your account settings. If you have cookies enabled and the "Automatically login when you return to the site?" option turned on, your computer will remember your style settings.
of course all this is in the FAQ
but you're an old guy and i respect thatCo-Founder, Apolyton Civilization Site

when i say that you can avoid those ads, i mean that you can see some other ads.Mark are you saying i can surf Poly without ads? if i change my settings????? somehow i don't think that is what your saying....
beyond that, on the forums, you CAN only get pop-ups and no other ads. just select an ultra-special styleCo-Founder, Apolyton Civilization Site

these ads(all RM ads to be exact) come as a package. it's a "take it or leave it" situation. normally these kind of ads runn for a small period of time and stop. if things get worse, we'll just say "leave it"Why can't we fix it so all styles avoid noise ads?Co-Founder, Apolyton Civilization Site
