  • Okay, what's all this about?

I've been surfing the OT forums, and I've noticed several threads with 20 or so replies, and 0 views. How exactly does that go about working?

When too many users come on, the site starts turning off features... Views, Avatars... that kind of thing.

But it is pretty funny to see a thread with 20 responses and only 0 views

If only everyone was so easily amused the world would be a much happier place.
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

When I saw it the first time I thought the server has finally cracked.

The first time I noticed this, it was with a thread of Monkspider, but not only did it have zero views and zero replies...it didn't even have an opening post o_O

Now that's odd. The server turns off previous posts if the load gets too high????????????

Nah, it was a minor glitch I think. The thread was repaired a few minutes later, showing the proper posts/replies.

Oh right. For a moment I suspected that the server load reducation measures had gotten a little draconian.

last time i noticed this was when there was some kind of civ3 chat... so i just assumed it was server problems, cursed the gods of apolyton and went on my merry old way
