It seems to have eased . Like everyone, have experienced difficulties getting thru. BUt have not notice any problem with google or any other Smac sites I visit.

Actually it's interesting since even sites like google.com appear to have troubles. I read just today that for the last several days, there were mupliple DDOS attacks on many root servers.

I'm not claiming apolyton is one, but some of the false traffic could somehow end up here, right?

Any further on this?

Yep. It got so bad the off-topic had to be closed for periods of time. I think we got up to right around 1000 simultaneous users.

At least we are mostly surviving it this time. I remember not being able to access 'Poly for hours at a time during the Civ3 release.
