  • Control Panel Idea

How about editing the forum view so that the menu bar that appears at the top of the control panel page appears on all the forums when a user is logged in?

    I know I'd use this a lot.

    This is what I mean:

This is a stupid and unnecessary idea.

I support your idea. Especially now that I am making lots of experiences with the various styles...

I'm not bothered. Could be useful though.

Doh. I noticed that one can change his style via a scroll-down menu in the top left corner of the main forum page.

But I still like your idea, FP.

It'd be useful for getting to the PM screen, and the notepad ( ) from inside a forum.

It would be nice to be able to check PM's without going to the main forum view, especially with the present page load times.

Just have auto-notify on. That way you don't need to check on PMs at all. Unless you are wanting to check if you've received a receipt for a message you've sent.

Auto-notify? Is that the "open a pop-up window when I get a PM"? 'Cause I've usually got pop-ups turned off.

Maybe, instead of adding a new menu bar and taxing the poor hamsters, the admins could just let you go directly to the Notepad from the goto dropdown (which already lets you navigate directly to private messaging).

Auto-notify pops up a message window (not a pop-up, but a system prompt window thingy) whenever you get a PM:

You have a new Private Message. Click OK to read it.

Then it asks you if you want to open it in a seperate window.

Oh, okay. That's pretty useful -- part of the problem with the Forum Jump drop-down box is that you can't open your destination in a new window.
