Hacking and cheating the polls

Hacking on the polling system:

I'm a bit curious about the security in here.
One thing is a professional hacker,
another is thing is just a sneak who found a flaw in this site... one flaw is moderator status.
What can someone do with that status, and how could you achieve it without permission?

Basically, is it easy to cheat on the polling system here?
