  • New curious bug

Since, oh, I dunno, two days or so, I've been experiencing this strange quirk:

Clicking on the last page number of a thread leads to an empty page - so clicking on the "3" of a "1 2 3" thread leads to an empty page. That's because the actual thread is only 2 pages long. Seems to me the routine printing pagenums is now generating N+1 pages instead of N (no, I haven't bothered checking the deal with one-page threads... )
Anyhow, this does not affect the longer threads that get the "Last page" moniker - those work correctly.

Exemples: In this forum, I'm current getting this bug for threads like "Suggestions as new flags" and "MSN Support".
"The number of political murders was a little under one million (800,000 - 900,000)." - chegitz guevara on the history of the USSR.
"I think the real figures probably are about a million or less." - David Irving on the number of Holocaust victims.

Yes, happening to me too. Goes to page 3 of a 2-page thread, for example.
(Just so moomin doesn't think he is going insane).
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

I noticed that opposite. Going to the second page of a 2-page thread, I noticed that there is also a 3rd page. I was using a 50-posts-per-page setting. Changing to 30 post per page seems to have fixed the problem, except that I now have to read more pages.

The same thing happened to me. I was at 50. Since changing it back to 30, it's been fine.

I tried to change back to 30 but got "There has been a problem with the database"

I'm at 50 and haven't noticed any of that - but I generally tend to come upon a thread late and read the whole thing...

Also, is there a reason they took out 100 posts per page? I had to change something else and when I did it took me down to 50 and that is now the maximum per page...

Yes, mac, it's kind of flakey. I've been at 50 for a long time and didn't have a problem, despite other people reporting it. Then all of a sudden, yesterday morning it started happening to me. I'm going to keep it at 30 for awhile I do prefer 50 to reduce the number of loads.

Guys, 2+2=4… the whole page length thing is busted. It now defaults to 30 instead of 25, and no other pagelengths work properly. However, if you have your option set to something other than 30 the thread directory still calculates the page numbers according to your option.

                    I'm having the same problem.

In my option, it is set to 50 posts per page, but when I enter threads it shows 30.

Just so you aren't wondering why half this thread has disappeared...

Moonin made a new suggestion after markos had responded that the original bug reported in this thread had been fixed.

I split the the thread at his new suggestion to increase the probablity that Markos would see the new discussion. And it was a good idea...
