What's the deal with "Registered: January 1970" ??

Back in the "old" days, the software didn't keep track of your registration date. On Feb 14, 1999 new software was used that did. People with the January 1970 or December 1969 designation are people that registered before that date... The dates shown are the default dates in the software package for people that don't have a registration date.
The only exception I can think of is DanQ, one of the owners of the site. He went in and manually changed his to read 1/08/1998Keep on Civin'

Why change it to 1998 or 1999 when you can have 1969/1970.
Actually I like the fact that a lot of the old timers have all the same date. So I'd keep this date even if offered to change it to the real date.
