aaglo, I don't know where that square design is coming from, but I haven't seen a square Belgian flag in whole my live (I would have remembered, as I would have laughed my *ss off). The flag on the Royal palace is not square, the flag on the parliamant is not square, so why would I need to admit I have a square flag?
I think it's cool that the correct shapes are being kept, but in my case it is silly, and even a bit offending (a very slight bit ). Now, if the flags all had the same width, and my flag would be double in size in comparison to all the others, I wouldn't mind at all. But now it is both not accurate, and slightly offending.
Solver, your flag is 30x15 pixels, while mine is 20x17. The flags are not sized in the html, so their original sizes are kept. Even if the Belgian flag would be near square (which it isn't) it would be fair to have approximately the same area, no? I mean, your flag is 450 pixels big, mine is 340... over 30% smaller. The Hungary flag is even 30x20, or 600 pixels, nearly double the Belgian one.
I don't want to pick on a nice feature, but this is not evenly done, and is still open for some improvement.

As others have already mentioned, those are the official designs, including relative length/height of the different flags. The flags I've seen on here until now have been consistent in this.
As is the case with my own country's flag. It's not as wide as most other countries' flags either.
