I can only guess as to what Mr President said.

The smiley class problem in my view is that a good handful of them are not readily accessible when replying.

I think all the smilies should be available from the panel directly on the reply page. It's a drag to have to open the little window for the newer ones.

... yes, could he be my "scatalogical fool"?

i think that the older ones should be replaced by the newer ones (not all of them, of course), because we already know how to code those older ones.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

My guess is the admins were just lazy when typing in the code for that smiley.

                    DC.

Smilies that everyone is familiar with (i.e type in rather than click for) don't really need to be in the side panel on the left of the reply window, and so could be replaced by the smilies in the 'get more' link.

And if you can't remember how to do etc, then you can use the 'get more' link to access them.

Get the most common used smilies from the side panel and put them on the "Get More" link, replacing them with the 13 ones that are currently under that link. 20 of the smilies on the side panel could be replaced by the 13 ones on the link... and we would have space for more seven interesting smilies... (hint, hint).

I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

I can only guess as to what Mr President said.
I didn't see where SG1 wrote "word smiley", so I said something about the "stick out tongue" smiley, which of course is not a word smiley and hence not pertinent to the discussion.

While we're at it, besides wishing for all the smilies to be available directly from the reply page, I also propose a change so that when you click on a smiley from the panel, it is actually inserted in the text where the cursor is, and not at the end of the text. I often write the text first and then insert the smilies, and I'd like to avoid the cutting and pasting involved with the current system.
