  • Methinks the database needs a bandaid

The past couple days I've been getting "problem with database" errors when editing (mostly -- almost every time) and sometimes posting.

When it gives the message while editing, it actually does edit the message but it still prints the error message and I must go back to the page manually.

When it gives the message while posting a new post, it posts the new post but doesn't increment the post count for the thread, or update the "last post by field", so when viewing the index you can't tell it's been posted to.

Another oddity is the behaviour of the red/yellow distinction between read and unread folders. Over the last few days I've often been presented with red folders when the last comment is my own (and thus the folder should be yellow).
What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

      Yes. Fix it now.

I can live with these minor problems, just keep the thing online.

Be assured that everyone, Apolyton staff included, sees the message often enough .

As for the red/yellow folders, it's a known issue, and Lucilla did some nice research on it.

Sometimes, most of the time it doesn't have those first two warnings though.

Yeah, I also got that quite often. But I fear that a bandaid will not be enough to fix it.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.
