Ming you need to put that information in the FAQ... (assuming of course anyone reads it; I've looked at it about 5 times; and still have yet to read it )
People always ask about 1970 or 1969... depending on their time zone

Good point... but don't look at me... not my job. Mention it to MarkG or DanQ
About the 1970 thing... too bad I did not register one month earlier...
About jt: I'll miss you very much, because you have enlightened my life in oh so many ways. I cannot believe you're leaving. Please stay. Apolyton will not be the same without your insightful posts. How will Civ3 get improved if the Firaxians cannot read your posts anymore? I surely hope you reconsider your decision.
That's uncalled for, Alex. JT might have been a wee bit to obsessed with badmouthing Civ3 and everyone involved with it here lately, but I recall him as a excellent and interesting poster back when I used to lurk in the SMAC groups.
Something obviously happened along the way.
"The number of political murders was a little under one million (800,000 - 900,000)." - chegitz guevara on the history of the USSR. "I think the real figures probably are about a million or less." - David Irving on the number of Holocaust victims.
Ok, moomin, somehow I feel you're right. And I also remember jimmy from his happier SMAC days - he was indeed an interesting poster back then.
Problem is, lately he has just been babbling this same sort of whining about Civ3 and it is soooo boring. But I'm able to discern in his late posts some of the wit and insightfulness that used to make him a brilliant poster. But, as you said, something happened along the way, it's almost as if his evil twin replaced him here.
