I've noticed a couple of times recently that I've recieved two notifications for the same post. It's no big deal, but I wouldn't want you to be wasting time and bandwidth sending out more mails than necessary .
Yes - same post, same thread, same user. (I didn't check whether they were sent at the same time, though - I recieved them on consecutive mail checks and my mail software is set to check every minute)
sometimes this is because of the provider , .....when they have problems with there server , and you get the mail twice , ....
we had , and still have that problem ones in a while , .....
however there seems to be almost no problem when you are with a telephone company , most of the problems like that happen with cable , ....it has to do with the servers , some from oracle are back in the factory for an "upgrade" , both hard and software , ...

I'm on neither cable nor a telephone connection. But that explanation sounds plausible. Next time (if) it happens I'll look closer.
hi ,
on some server's from oracle , when you use the option to save a copy on the server , with your provider it happens also , ...

I'm sorry, but I can't make any sense of that sentance.

hi ,
well with most providers , and this is more the rule then the exception , you have the option to leave a copy of your e-mail on their server's , .......
I don't know whether I get emails twice, because I move them automatically to my trash folder (I prefer checking my control panel to stay up to date).
But connected to that problem is maybe this issue:
When I open up the control panel for the first time, I can see new posts to e.g 5 threads marked in red.
When I click on one of the posts, read the message, and then click on control panel again (i.e. not use the back function), the post is marked in yellow, which is correct.
When I go to one of the forums directly and open a thread from there, my control panel doesn't get updated. I sometimes even see my own posts as unread in the control panel.
In the forums, posts are sometimes not marked as new, although I know for sure that I haven't read them yet (because they were sent in the middle of the night or while I'm at work), whereas others are marked red that I have checked several times, because I thought there was a new post in it.
BTW, all this happens although I use one browser window instance. If I use more than one window, the information never gets updated for the other window (I assume that's because they use different cookie instances).

hi ,
either its the cookie control in your browser or a firewall , ...
Well, the firewall wouldn't explain why some cookies work and some don't.
I just checked my internet settings and noticed that "allways allow session cookies" wasn't checked. I did that now and will see what happens....
