  • MSN Messenger button.

You know, when you see someone post, under their name is the option of being able to contact them using ICQ, AIM or Yahoo messenger or something. Now the former two are widely used, but the latter one, nope, I've never come across anyone use that. But lots of people use MSN Messenger, but there is no option to talk to people using this medium. So why not try and get rid of the Yahoo! button and substitute it with an MSN messenger one. I am sure there must be an add on for that one available from vBulletin!

    Do it!

Isn't an MSN messenger name basically just your email address? Which would defeat the object of the vB protecting your email address with the email link

Why protect a hotmail address, it will get filled with spam mail eventually anyway.

Not all MSN accounts are Hotmail. I'm on MSN with an ISP address, you just need to sign up for a passport account. And no, I don't get all that much spam off it.

They cancel the e-mail account if you don't access it for a month.

I know a lot of people that use yahoo, BTW.

AIM is OK though... ICQ has some quirks at times....

Well OK then Chris, we could just add an MSN button, but I have never seen anyone with Yahoo! account information on these boards though, so it just seemed a little bit useless.

Look at Chris's name and then look across the line. You should see 'Yahoo!' There you have seen it.

I think your idea is good Rich, nothing wrong with adding MSN, I was just saying I know a lot of people that also use Yahoo.

Yeah, it is strange that I don't see the button because I noticed it is definitely there in your profile but not on my main screen. I wonder whether this is because I don't have Yahoo myself...ah well...they could definitely do with this option added, but I see we have had no replies from the 'powers-that-be'

Well, it'd be a good idea, but the only Apolytoner who's on my MSN contact list is Immortal Wombat, and we barely talk on it anyway (for some reason, he's on my list twice). It'd probably end up being of little use.

Mark, can you pleeeeeeeeeeeeasse add MSN to the profile listing at least, and preferably a button here in the thread viewing too?

My MSN's davemilford@shaw.ca for anyone interested.
