  • How about killing Earth 2025 forum?

It has been 9 months since the last time a serious post was made in there, so I'm sure that none of the former users (like me) minds that forum is closed.

How about changing the name of the Earth 20whateveritis forum to "Candle'Bre"

    -=Vel=-
The list of published books grows. If you're curious to see what sort of stories I weave out, head to Amazon.com and do an author search for "Christopher Hartpence." Help support Candle'Bre, a game created by gamers FOR gamers. All proceeds from my published works go directly to the project.

I have received numerous suggestions that we need a Beer forum .

What about chaning it to a Utopia forum? It seems to be popular in the other games forum.

I actually agree with Vel. After all, Brian Reynolds got 'his own' forum, why can't Vel?

(And this is coming from someone who knows virtually nothing about Candle'Bre except that it's Vel's project )

Thank ya, Locutus! And with luck, you'll be hopelessly addicted to the game when it comes out!

Well, Vel, you've got your own forums on your site, right? But if you want come here, we're certainly open to the idea!

MarkG, consider me interested, then! With the sheer number of creative brains frequenting Apolyton, and the number of *outstanding* threads I've seen regarding ideas for Civ3, 4, MOO3, and other games, I'm thinking that nothing but good things could come from having an open discussion forum here for the project here!

That would rock, and I think the game would be better for it!

I would suggest though that the great V not move all Candley-related stuff over to Apolyton in its entirety.
There are some designer/development-related discussions best held, not necessarily in private, but not on a forum with up to 19-odd thousand people either.

                  Hey, there's an idea -
How about a public and a private forum, both hosted here?
[That way the developers can continually make veiled references to discussions going on in their private forum and annoy/intrigue the heck out of everybody. ]

The one thing I wouldn't want to happen though is for Candle'bre to go public too soon only to have the hype die away again long before there's anything to really (publically) show for it.

Personally, I would prefer a Candle'Bre forum here to be made near, or even after we have released the beta version of our game. That way we can actually show people that we deserve to be here, and can get some more people involved and having fun.

                    Nice thread-jack btw Vel.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Exactly - or at least until there are some sort of visuals to maybe put in a news clip or somesuch.

Shhhhhh! You're disrupting the master plan.

according to our WebMaster-dude Pyromancier we have our own private forum set up now ... not that i've been given access to it yet ... so we should have that side of things covered now.

A Candle'Bre forum hosted at Apolyton (especially in the future when we have a Beta version for people to play with) would be extremely useful (and would give me a chance to increase my post-count ).
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

Excellent point, Rav...and yep...Stoo beat me to the punch where that's concerned. We've now got a....call it semi-private? forums section up and running, so we can migrate away from the Portal, go off and do all our top secret "Candle'brewing" there, and make use of Markos' generous offer to host discussions on the game itself, mechanics, strats, and things people would like to see included right here.

To that end, I agree that the total page views will likely pick up once we've got a beta out to play with, but even before then, I'm seeing a great deal of value to having the forum in place. Our own creative jam sessions (held with 8-10 people at a time) have never failed to yield a healthy crop of ideas and new ways of looking at things....imagine the size of the crop, given the size of Apolyton's membership base. That's good stuff....

(PS: Yes...that WAS rather an inspired threadjack, wasn't it? )

Actually, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have forum here. It would be a good place to recruit new member to make up for the invariable losses to our group. ????
