  • Poly, the soap opera...

OK, everyone knows that a lot of things get posted here at Poly and its not always possible to read every thread, even if you are here 24/7. All too often I miss-out on the interesting threads, so I would like guidance to the interesting or informative threads, not for Civ purposes but for poster interaction - whether it be sit com or drama.

Now, what I suggest is a forum news section summarising the latest developments, one in which all the "interesting" threads are summarised. A brief synopsis of what Wiggie or Giancarlo has been upto, or maybe some interesting developments involving the old regulars like PH or AH, perhaps if regular posters have returned from sabbatical it could be mentioned here. Basically it would be nice to get the lowdown on what is happening without having to wade through all the spam. I do like to keep abreast of current affairs.

So, what do we reckon, can we have a dedicated news section if someone is willing to write it?

Sagacious Dolphin: are you talking about a dedicated news category for the "main" part of Apolyton or a news section linked to from the forum index (homepage)?

Either way, the answer is no but we thank you for your suggestion.

What about a dedicated gossip/news thread in the Apolyton/Community thread where people could post their news so that the assembly of an Apolyton History Book would be oh so much easier

Sounds more like an idea for a popularity contest. Would probably incite posters of less repute to spam in order to get in the news.

                Sort of, but more "newsworthy".

BVasically I want an equivalent to the current news section, but revolving around the posters instead of the games. Something like the latest interviews would be posted there.

No, the whole point is I want people to tell me what is going on.

I have already expressed the administrative position on this issue, Sagacious: your request is denied. Any further direct lobbying on this issue in this thread will result in its closure as, again, the decision has been made (the same goes for subsequent threads).

Might as well lock it down now, anymore posts will just be spam.
