  • Can we get some new ads?

Do you agree that these ads are starting to get a little boring.

Whatever helps pay the bills to keep this place running is fine by me.
They are better than the bloody pop ups we had.

I prefer these ads for charity groups to the previous ads for dodgy 'entertainment' sites (UGO, etc). At least any money spent on the sites is going to a good cause

I, for one, do not come here to view advertisements, interesting or otherwise.

How does 'Poly go round then?
Is the income from the stor enough to pay the bill?
I don't want to realize one day that 'Poly is no more due to no income.

Apolyton is presently being hosted on a server for a public, non-profit organization and therefore commercial advertisements are not permitted. Our said host -- and as I have said before, this arrangement is only on an extended temporary basis -- is generously allowing us to remain on their server cost free to us (as was the case with GameStats, our previous host which we were with for nearly 3 1/2 years).

Yes and no. We do pay for the former, yes -- there is an annual fee to keep access to members technical support and updates beyond the initial purchase of the product beyond the first year. Our current newscript, Keld, and NewsPro, the script we used previously, were and are still available free of charge. Additional expenses we incur are domain^ renewal fees and any costs related to contests that we may run.

If you aren't getting paid for those ads, then why have them???

Do we really want to have them. They should be limited to the news pages only, and removed from the forums. I have 268 copies of these ads in my temporary internet files folder.

To just get here and read old threads... It can be quite entertaining sometimes. If they just could publish all archives...
