  • The issue of closing threads...

I just want to make the comment that the moderator APPEARS to have little to no sense of humor AND seems to exercise bad judgement in selecting which threads to close.

By and large most of the threads I have seen closed should not have been.

Perhaps part of the trouble is that the moderator does not speak English natively. If this is true then I would suggest that it would be better not to jump the gun and close a thread unless you really understand the tone and nuances involved.

If the moderator does speak English natively then I would suggest that he/she/they back off. Moderator excesses reflect badly on bad moderators.

(now, you might want to move this thread, lol)

Yeah... right. While the admin here may not be American, most of the mods are.

And yes, this will be moved to the forum for complaints about moderator actions...

I don't exactly live in fear of being banned by Poly mods.

It seems like "some" people wanted to turn it into a civil war discussion... not something meant for the Civ III forum

did you even read the FAQ? or the rules when yuo signed up for a forum account? It mentions stuff like thread jacking, spamming, posting in the wrong forum. It also says that this is a private site and the admins can do anything that they like. Like closing threads.

I posted a thread with a picture of el freako and david floyd merged and it disappeared. Aw, I spent a lot of time on that.

Ming, I would suggest that by requiring discussion to stick to a narrow definition that you reveal a narrow mind. Of course, that does not apply to you personally, I am referring to forum policy.
