    • the 100 list is about history. if you want to make a list of purely active members, fine. but it hardly measures up to DarkCloud's list. It shouldn't be easy to make the list, you have to put in years of effort to make it on. Besides, Civ3 is often more spammy than the OT is today, or have you missed the fact that we have 4 mods to clamp down on us?

      • Wasn't there some sort of top 100 based on merit? Post count aside, there a lot of on topic posters (scenarios, tools, utils, list making) who've made a lasting impact on the civ community thanks to that.
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

        • DC does run a hall of fame, with inductees every so often.

          • Although people with a larger post-count do tend to get voted for more than lower post-count people. A motion to restrict people from being voted in with less than 1000 posts was defeated.

            • I do think it is a little unfair that many of the posters who were here several years ago got to spam there way to Empirer on the OT while the rest of us actually have to work for our posts
Well, they received many PCRs back in those days

And there were the forum wars between the CTP OT and Civ II OT
(Yes there were 2 OTs, but that was before I started posting- and possibly before I started viewing- aug 1999... It took posters a long time to get to Emperor) When I made emperor, we only had about 25... now we have 40
              ...
and OT posts no longer count.
              ...
              ...
              Who're the spammers now?

              • we have a lot more than 40 emperors now DC. closer to 70, with a couple deities thrown in too

                • 87 Emperors to be precise. Yes, I do have too much free time at the moment.

We still have 5 deities, and around 300 or so Kings.
