  • Why the limit of 4000 characters in a PM?

I wanted to send some VB code to a person by PM, but it is 7438 characters long (maximum is 4000). Why?

I was going to split it in two PMs, but I can't post more then one PM every 90 seconds. Crappy rules.

Is Private Messaging designed for that?

Why couldn't you just use e-mail?

But not lazy enough to split the reply in two, and send it in two PMs; and in addition have to wait 90 seconds due to "flood control".

Well, I sent one PM, and I couldn't send the rest by e-mail.

On a similar subject, what is the character limit on post sizes?
