Let's face it: If Firaxis were a movie, at best it would make a trailer for some C 'straight to video' series ... like Lord of the Ants or something.

AoW2. No question about it. I'm a beta-tester and so I'm probably biased, but AoW2 _is_ MoM2, the game I've been waiting for for years.

And just like MoM stomped Civ as a strategy game way back when, AoW2 is stoping Civ3 now.

            AoW2 vs. Moo3, now there's a more interesting question...

"I think the real figures probably are about a million or less." - David Irving on the number of Holocaust victims.

              Wait I must be dreaming....

              I'm a fan of MoM.

I'm a fan of AoW but disliked that there wa little economy in the game...

              and now there's AoW2?

                MOO vs. MoM?

MOO and MoM are the best 2 classic fav. of mine

yes, even CGW called AoW2 and "sequel" to MoM

i wonder why microprose (yet, another 1 of my fav. game companies) didn't work on a sequel to MoM, it's the best classic ever... so complex and indept for its time, it still beat most mordern games when it comes to gameplay (dang it, i wanna play it again but there's no DOS, LoL)

                IMO, even MoM beat Civ3

                *adds AoW2 to shopping list*

anyone know what's going on at microprose?
the xcom: 1 and 2 were great, too
they screwed up on 3 tho, lol, way too complex, too much micromanagement to anyone not already an xcom fanatic to play the game

Some had touted AoW1 as MoM2 also, but it fell short. most importantly, you couldn't found new cities. seemed somewhat lacking in global enchantments, too.

I don't know. AoW was touted as MoM2, and ended up being super HoMM.

any evidence that it is somewhat closer this time? links please.

OK, I clicked on the godgames link in the first post, and followed it around.

Sure enough, you will be able to found new cities, and develop them. that's good.

one of the interviews hit what was bothering me most about AoW1, it's basically a fantasy war game. if I can get an empire devlopment......

anyway, this bears closer watching. maybe I'll go down and read that CGW.

I've actually joined that AOW community, seems to be a decent place. And my handle is pretty recognisable as well
