twice now tis come on the history channel at around the same time (11:00pm)

Its pretty bad if they feel they need to advertise. Games like this should sell themselves.

That's a publisher's decision, normally. Like most game publishers, I'd assume they're trying to milk the newbie mass market ASAP, to get what sales they can in the Christmas gift rush.

Right now, I've found Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord to be such an absorbing game that I wouldn't even get around to installing Civ III if someone gave it to me.
