    1. How much do people need it/like to use it?
i use it, but that's only because i'd have nothing else in my email box if i didn't. lol. kinda makes me feel important. but it becomes a little bothersome when i have 70 of them in there. i never read them..so..it's kinda pointless for me to use them.

    2. How much does it inconvenience people.

it doesn't really inconvenience me at all except when i'm in a very lazy mood. it doesn't take much effort to click delete on it.

I'm using that to describe what qualifies the thread to be included in the "subscribed threads" screen - what you get if you click on "View all subscribed threads" from the control panel page.

This can be bookmarked and then jumped to at ones convenience - providing an "active" way to see what the status of those threads are, independent of the email thing that I was voting to get decoupled.

Sure, I use it alot. Basically on the important threads I create, or ones that need close attention. I seem to get the annoying error messages all the time. But whatever, it isn't gonna kill me to see a few lines of askew text.

I never use it and because the e-mail address poly has of mine is not my primary e-mail account, I would only see the messages about once a week.

I use it sometimes. However it does bother me that it has to notify you over and over that someone has responded since my last post. It would be much better if it would only notify you 1 time after each time you post. But I don't suppose the feature is that smart.

I thought it did that until you logged on again.
