There currently going on some sort of a charity campaign
for collecting cash for donating funds to ACS, so that Markos and
Dan could afford a new server. But everyone doesn't have that
cash to give them, even if they would be delighted to do so.
Not all of us have a credit card to use for PayPal or any other
payment delievery service. Of course you can use cheques and
money orders, but it's not cheap.
There is a much easier and cost effective way to rise funds
for that server or perhaps more bandwith.
Point n' click!
What!?! Point n' click?!?
Yes, the point n' click campaign is based on a simple
idea, apolytoners simply click on the add banners that
can be found a bit everywhere.
But what's new with this camapaign then? We have seen
those banners for a long time!
Yes, but how many of us have actually clicked them?
I suppose not so many. Or even if we have, how often have
we done that?
The point is that apolytoners would try to click at least
one ad banner page page they view, every time when
they access a page (no matter if they would have been
there before). The banners work also when opened in
a new browser window, so it wouldn't disturb one's
surfing so much.
If one visitor visits 10 pages (who wouldn't) and clicks at
1 banner per evey 10 page, the total amount of clicks
would be 10.
The pay out formula of banners is quite varieying, but I assume
it's under 0.05$ per clicker, but Dan or Markos could perhaps
reveal us the formula they get paid with for the visitors they
catch on ACS to click on those ad banners.
10 x 0.05 = 0.50
10 clicks, 0.05$ each, earned cash 0.50$
If one visitor does that in two week time every day
(10 x 14 = 140), the amount of clicks is 140.
140 x 0.05 = 7
The amount of cash collected for ACS would be 7$.
If 5000 visitors would do the same, it would be...
5000 x 7 = 35000
35 000$, if I have calculated correctly.
And even if the payment per click would just
0.01$ (quite usual), the amount would still be...
140 x 0.01 = 1.4
5000 x 1.4 = 7000
7000$! Wouldn't that be enough for a server for ACS?
So it doesn't have to be so difficult to help Markos and Dan.
Just point n' click!
