Should Post Counts Be Abolished?

I don't really see the point in them...I mean, what are they there for? To encourage people to "Ras" forums? The common excuse is that they are there in order to give the site a Civvy feel. Well I think the very good site seems Civilizationny enough as it is, IMO.

I wonder if post counts are there just to keep Deity Ming happy?
