  • Should Ming lose his job?

I think Ming has been quick to ban, disrespectful, and in general created (at least for me) a general atmosphere of caprice and disrespect though his efforts as a moderator. I think he should be replaced - I hope the rest of you feel the same.

I'm not defending UberKruX or his actions. I found most of his posts repugnant and his attitude inflamatory. But if Ming is to be a moderator, he must rise above the bait set out by flamers like UberKruX. It is time to remind this site that it is participants who make it interesting. They may provide the forum, but we provide the entertainment.

I urge each of you to vote your opinion. And if enough of us feel Ming should go, he should. If not, we should boycott Apolyton, reducing the forums to a ghost town until we are shown the respect due to us by the people who own and maintain this site.

On the other hand, if you think I'm on crack or overreacting, or just need to calm down. Voice your opinion, and I'll shut up about the whole matter and admit that I was wrong.

Why I've entertained with my every post, dear Markos. Not to mention my sparkling personality and sage wisdom. It is so good of you to provide the online public at large a forum for my thoughts.
In all fairness, UberKrux was the bigger jerk Ming. But if UberKruX jumped off a cliff...

Uber got around the censor...that's not allowed...he got a 1 week ban. He apparently didn't learn from that and did it again. Rules are rules.

I was seriously considering doing a poll about 'Should The Templar get a vacation for this poll?', but then I realised how worthless that would be..

                rather like this one is.

Many people don't understand what a society is. I believe it was Hobbes (someone verify this; it's been a while since university) who said that everyone participates in a social contract where people give up a number of rights for the greater good of everyone in the society. This applies to both 'real' society and forums, which are a kind of micro-society. When we register for forums we agree to the rules that the moderators wrote for the comfort and good of the forum participants. If you don't follow the rules you are breaking the social contract and you deserve to be banned. In real society if you break the rules you get punished by the state or shunned by those around you. I think Ming was right in banning UberKrux for his post. Without moderators I think many threads would just dissolve into flame wars and garbage.

If you don't like Ming's posts, add him to your ignore list (of course, then you can't see any warnings he gives you )

It all may seem a bit harsh to you in the beginning...but after some time you'll see that Ming (and the others) are pretty fair...

For now...just get rid of that stupid sig...

It seems very ironic that in small letter at the bottom of the poll is writtin "edit poll (moderators only)"

Not only should Ming be commended for his hard work, dedication, and effort, I think we should start a petition to have his pay rate doubled effective immediately. What do you say Mark?
