      good job guys

in my experience both the admins and mods have proven to be reasonable and very willing to discuss matters of disagreement

they've always at least explained or given their reason(s) and been more open to discussion than say the sp players in the civ3 general forum

various people have commented that the admins create the site and own it and can do whatever they want with it.

I agree partly with that. I think that this site wouldn't be what it is right now without the imput of the regular users. I have written 2 colums and offered a big review of ToT including screenshots 5 days before it was released. Compared to the work Markos is doing, it's very little. But what we do together as regulars is pretty huge.

I still support the admins for being in charge, and I agree that freedom of speech is BS on a site like this. The only thing I request from the admins is that they respect their visitors, and for sure their regular visitors.

In fact I think people should respect everybody in general. It's not that because you're an admin you can ignore people and ignore their questions. That's what bugs me.

I get the impression that running this site brings one into contact with a lot of people who have level of anal retention that any dedicated trainspotter would be proud of, the sort of patience that you'd normally expect to see in a toddler, and no sense of proportion whatsoever.

With that in mind, coupled with the fact that in 6 weeks I never once clicked on that thread purely because the title made it sound like the single most dull thread ever, I can fully understand how it might have kept sliding to the bottom of people's "to do" list.
