• Why do the news get to the news section only before getting to the archives?

In the Civ3 section all recent news do not show up. Then I checked the archives, but I didn't find the news often there either. In desperation I checked apolyton.net/news, ant there they were.

Can I have a technical explanation on why that happens?

Assuming I understand your concern correctly, only CivIII news appears in the CivIII section. When a CivIII or other section news item is posted, it appears simultaneously in its respective section and on the news page. As other news items are posted, it is slowly knocked down farther on both news list until such a time that it is "dated" enough to be added to the archives (the archives refer to all site news, not individual sections so while in the "General News" area a news item might be archived it might still be a 'top story' in the specific section that it corresponds to).

I don't see what the problem is that you're eluding to; if I haven't addressed it here, please elaborate.

My problem is that with all Civ3 news that have been recently a maximum news that may bee shown in the civ3-section seem to be reached. The half-old news do not appear in the archive, nor in the Civ3 section. They do just appear in the common news.

Ah, I see -- I will try to clarify an earlier point I made to explain the situation.

As I indicated in my previous post on this subject, the contents of the archives are dictated not by the activity of a particular section -- or lack thereof -- of the site but rather by the common news as a whole. Only when news items become "old" enough as in comparison to the number of more recent posts before it, as opposed to its actual 'date age', will it be sent to the archives.

Thus, if you are looking for recent-but-not-so-recent CivIII news items, so to speak, check the common news area first to determine whether or not they have been moved to the archives or not.
