  • Increase in locked threads ? Why?

Whether it's a "new" thread on a subject, or starting a Civ III MP thread in MP Civ II section, why lock it down?

One would think the prime objective would be to have people frequent the forums.
I've run into this in the past, moving threads from one section to another.
If a person wants to address a section of players, why not let them?
It's said, "No, this thread belongs here", but the same people don't frequent the suggested forum.

Why don't all you "Power Guys" give it a little bit of a rest?
It's not like you don't have bigger worries.

Yeah, yeah. I see it coming, which will merely illustrate the point.

No, they're waiting for this thread to be moved to the community forum, then they can add to their postcount.

I think you're onto something there.

That way, admin can shoot themselves in both feet, not just one.

I'm guessing at more than one.

                  People know the rules, Sloww.

They just get obbsessed with PC once in awhile.

I don't think a lot of people are in fun moods lately.

                  I know I sure as hell haven't, but I wish I was.

Yeah, threads are being closed an awful lot, esp. in the Civ3 forum.

                        Slow,

You hit the nail on the head. Leave the thread-maker some freedom to decide what audience he is addressing.

and pretty soon we'll have all kinds of topics from civ2 to bin Laden discussed in all forums, except that the discussions will be addressed to different audiences....

Be reasonable. I said "some freedom". Not total freedom. And moving games comparisons to this forum...it's...it's....WIERD!

                              (It's not like I'm proposing a Civ3 MP forum within Civ2 MP or a Civ3 OT...although... )
